Fluff Pulp Price Trends, Forecast, Chart, Prices And Index Q2 2026

The Fluff Pulp Price Trend moved higher across major markets during Q2 2026 as global pulp availability became tighter, production costs increased, and logistics faced several disruptions.

Fluff pulp is an important raw material for products such as baby diapers, adult incontinence products, feminine hygiene products, absorbent pads, and other personal care applications. Because these products are used regularly, demand for fluff pulp tends to remain relatively stable.

However, changes in pulp supply, energy costs, freight rates, currency movements, and buying activity can have a direct impact on market prices. During Q2 2026, these factors worked together to create a firm pricing environment before some markets experienced a correction in June.

The quarter started with a tighter supply situation in the global pulp market. Planned production curtailments reduced the amount of pulp available for export, while transportation problems made it more difficult for buyers to secure material quickly.

Severe winter storms across North America also affected transportation networks and created additional challenges for pulp movement.

When supply becomes less flexible, buyers generally become more cautious about inventories, while suppliers tend to maintain stronger offers.

Another important factor during the quarter was the increase in energy and production costs. Geopolitical tensions involving the United States and Iran contributed to uncertainty in energy markets and pushed fuel and energy costs higher during parts of the quarter.

Fluff pulp production is energy-intensive, so changes in electricity, fuel, chemicals, and transportation costs can influence the final production cost. Higher caustic soda costs also added pressure to manufacturing expenses.

As a result, the Fluff Pulp Price Chart showed a clear upward movement during much of Q2 2026. The increase was not limited to one region. Export prices in the United States moved higher, while imported material became more expensive in India, Italy, Germany, and China. However, the market changed direction toward the end of the quarter as geopolitical tensions eased, energy and freight costs came down, and some buyers became more cautious.

Global Fluff Pulp Market During Q2 2026

The global fluff pulp market experienced a combination of supply restrictions and cost pressure during Q2. Planned production curtailments reduced available export volumes in some markets.

This mattered because fluff pulp buyers often depend on regular shipments to maintain production schedules. Any reduction in available cargoes can quickly influence purchasing decisions.

North American logistics were another important factor. Severe winter weather caused transportation disruptions, affecting the movement of pulp from production locations to ports and customers.

When transportation becomes slower or less reliable, the delivered cost of material can rise even if the underlying pulp price does not change significantly.

Energy costs added another layer of pressure. Higher crude oil and fuel costs increased transportation expenses, while higher electricity and chemical costs affected production economics.

Caustic soda is one of the important chemicals associated with pulp processing, so an increase in its production cost can add pressure to overall pulp manufacturing costs.

Demand also remained relatively steady because fluff pulp is closely connected to the hygiene sector.

Baby diapers, feminine hygiene products, adult care products, and other absorbent applications require a consistent supply of suitable pulp grades. This steady end-use demand helped support the market when availability was limited.

At the same time, the market did not remain firm throughout the entire quarter. By June, some of the earlier cost pressures began to ease.

Lower energy and freight expenses improved geopolitical conditions, comfortable inventories in certain markets, and cautious procurement created room for prices to correct.

USA Fluff Pulp Market

In the United States, the Fluff Pulp Price Trend increased by around 11.5% in Q2 2026 compared with Q1. The main reason was tighter export availability following planned production curtailments. With fewer cargoes available, buyers faced a firmer market, particularly when combined with transportation disruptions.

Winter storms also affected logistics across North America. Delays and transportation difficulties can create additional costs for exporters because pulp has to move through several stages before reaching the final customer or export terminal.

Energy costs were another important factor. Higher fuel and electricity expenses increased production and transportation costs. At the same time, higher caustic soda costs added pressure to manufacturing expenses. These conditions encouraged suppliers to maintain firmer export offers.

However, the market began to soften in June. U.S. Fluff Pulp Prices declined by around 3.5% during the month as geopolitical tensions eased and crude oil and energy costs moved lower. Lower fuel costs also helped reduce shipping expenses. This allowed suppliers to become somewhat more competitive in export markets.

The June decline did not completely erase the quarterly increase, but it showed how quickly fluff pulp prices can respond when energy, freight, and geopolitical conditions change.

India Fluff Pulp Market

India recorded one of the stronger increases during Q2 2026. The Fluff Pulp Price Trend in India increased by approximately 15% compared with the previous quarter.

India depends significantly on imported pulp for many applications, so international price movements have a direct influence on domestic markets. When U.S. export prices increase and global supply becomes tighter, Indian buyers generally face higher landed costs.

Higher freight expenses and supply chain disruptions also contributed to the increase. Currency movements added further pressure because a weaker Indian Rupee against the U.S. Dollar can make imported raw materials more expensive for domestic buyers.

Demand from the hygiene and personal care industries remained steady during the quarter. These industries use fluff pulp in products that have regular consumer demand, which helped provide support to the domestic market even as prices increased.

However, June brought a small correction. Indian prices declined by around 1% as freight and energy costs eased. Domestic inventories were also sufficient in some areas, allowing converters to purchase more cautiously. Instead of aggressively building stocks, buyers could wait for better market conditions.

This resulted in a more balanced market toward the end of Q2.

Italy Fluff Pulp Market

Italy also experienced a significant increase in imported fluff pulp prices during Q2. The CIF Italy price for material imported from the United States increased by around 10.5% compared with Q1.

The increase was largely linked to higher U.S. export offers combined with elevated transatlantic freight and energy costs. For an importing market, the final delivered price depends not only on the pulp itself but also on ocean freight, fuel costs, insurance, currency conditions, and other logistics expenses.

European hygiene and tissue manufacturers continued replenishing inventories during the quarter. Earlier cautious purchasing had left some buyers needing to rebuild stocks, particularly when spot cargo availability became tighter.

The market corrected in June, with Italian CIF prices declining by approximately 4%. Lower bunker fuel and ocean freight costs helped reduce the landed cost of imported pulp. Comfortable inventories and slower purchasing by some European buyers also contributed to the correction.

The June movement showed that softer freight costs can have a noticeable impact on imported pulp prices, especially when buyers are not under pressure to rebuild inventories immediately.

Germany Fluff Pulp Market

Germany recorded a Q2 increase of around 12% in the price of fluff pulp imported from the United States.

Higher U.S. export offers were an important factor, but the increase was also supported by higher European energy costs and elevated transatlantic freight expenses. German b
